What Cha Doing?

It has been so fun to watch his language acquisition.  He continues to add new words and phrases to his vocabulary.  We still play charades a lot and have times when we have no idea what he is trying to say.......I think he sometimes says yes just to get us to shut up 😀. The new phrase we hear all the time now is "what you doing" (said as "what chew dew ing").  It is so cute and makes us laugh every time!

He is an inquisitive little guy and wants to help, explore, and investigate everything!  Last week we had a couple days of amazing weather and spent as much time outside as we could.  One of the activities was exploring a nature trail, in our rain boots.  He was a little cautious at first, as well as a little apprehensive about getting his new rain boots dirty.  It didn't take long to get over that and then he was off exploring - walking in the mud, checking out the streams, dragging around the biggest stick or tree branch he could find and exclaiming "strong".  It was a fun day!  We are enjoying watching him learn and experience new things!

He continues to request to go "outside" everyday regardless of the weather.  And to help reinforce this he usually includes "outside" when he prays.  We have to chuckle as his prayer is a list of things he is thankful for and wants to do.  It usually includes, mama, baba, Luke HouLiang, bike, lunch, outside, snack, and a couple other things sprinkled in depending in what we are doing that day.......and if he has gotten in trouble or been corrected shortly before we pray, he typically doesn't want to pray.  It makes me realize how we can do this sometimes.  If life gets tough, or God doesn't give us the answer we want, we sometimes stop praying, going to church, etc until things return to how we want them to be.  But in reality......."The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
