Focus on the Positive

Today was tough!  We read a devotional earlier this week that talked about focusing on the positive, and boy we needed that reminder today! We took the train to the city where HouLiang was born to apply for his passport. Thankfully we had a guide with us, as it is a 2-hour train ride with many stops once we got there.....although I had different expectations of what the guide would provide than what really happened. We were led around from one place to the next not knowing what we were doing and how long we would be there, with a five year old that kept asking when we could go swimming.  We are glad that part is over and look forward to our free day tomorrow, with time to swim and a trip to the park.

The positives for today:
  • God is growing our faith and trust in Him (Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8)
  • We got to see more of the country, and the city where HouLiang was born
  • BaBa got some quality bonding time with HouLiang
  • We made it through another restaurant experience
  • HouLiang is great at imaginative play! We brought along an old iPod with music for him to listen to. He wasn't so much into that but used it as a phone and universal remote (everyplace we went that had a TV he kept pointing the iPod at it and trying to change the channel.......men and remotes 😁).

  1. I totally remember our guides randomly bringing us places to do paperwork and other random things and not having a clue what was going on. Ah, memories! Glad to see that things are going rather well! We cannot wait to meet Luke!

  2. God has a plan for all of us. Without struggle, there would be no journey.

Tell Houliang that his uncle Mitch is in America.
